Postbox_05 : Education

I felt happy went Felda and Limkokwing University planned me and my friends sent here. London is a great place to learn and study. Here in London are many things to learn about heritage, culture, history, business, advertising, marketing, economic, fashion, arts, architecture and anything else. London is full of interest, innovation, creativity, and intelligent. No wonder, London is the place of teenagers to come down and study here. 

Based on my observation, I was learned about culture and lifestyle of London citizen as international city. This city is global city and so much different than Malaysia which is many race, nationality, background, identity and society.

Limkokwing preparing industry talks every week. This kind of learning give me exposure to industry and what industry need and through for now. It is helping me, so, I can do some preparation for future in working environment, skills and experiences. 

Education in London is different from Malaysia. They are strict about discipline, focusing in study and student achievement. Furthermore, lectures are more than practical parts. The lecturers keep on lectures to gain us the knowledge and idea about the subjects. They gave us guide, idea, and different way of thinking for me and my friends giving better output of assignments or projects.

Postbox_04 : London’s Music, art and design.

London is full or music, arts and design. Any places that I gone, London shown their country as a country that rich with music, arts and design. I found it on architecture of the buildings, advertising in the tubes, on streets, and adverts on televisions. I also found talented musician playing at tube stations.  All those music, arts and design are creative and inspired me. This is show me that London is creative country

Most of museum I visited is full with arts from fine art, carved stone, painting, jewellery and other arts that shown the ages of arts from century to century. All of this kind of arts I found at London Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. I have learned fine arts previously on my secondary school, it such as good thing to see different fine arts from other country. It is looks like the artist try to tell me story in their artworks. 

Meanwhile, modern art which is known as designs are used on tube stations, in the train and anywhere. This design is used as advertising campaign to promote products whether shown as printed version or digital version. All the advertising is so inspired. I easily interest into the design and way them promoting the products. Whether in mass media or new media, every promotion campaign is planned well. They are interpreting the technology to spread the idea of advertising to citizen.

Music in London is inspired. Almost every tube stations I gone was full with street musician. They were playing all kind of music and mostly origin from local. United Kingdom has nice and good music. Most of bands and singers are from United Kingdom such as Coldplay, Arctic Monkey, Adele, Morrissey and many more.

 

Music, art and design in London such a better level for me. I am currently studying design and it is suitable for me to explore London as artistic spot. Many things I found in London whether in design style, trends, design sense, technology of promotions and others, that all I can conclude in my study about arts in London.

Postbox_03 : Fashion

I believe that London attraction is fashion retail and design besides their heritage, culture and history. This is attraction to people from abroad to visit London every day. London is heaven of fashion after Paris. From classy looks until street’s fashion. All fashion retail is here in London. Not only cloth, but also bag, jewellery, shoes and other famous accessory are here. Not to forget, famous fashion designer also selling their product here in London. 

All over the world’s brands are at London such as Top shop, Uniqlo, Vans, Ted Baker, Ben Sherman, Levi’s, Superdry, Zara and others brand. Those brands are attractions people all over the world to come to visit London that is fashion’s country. Every season have different collections and style. Every season also have sales and specific day of sales. That is attracting people to shopping in London every season and keeping people visit London.

London has variable spot to shop such as Regent Street, Oxford Street, Covent Garden and other places. Those places have good geography diagram in term location, brand located and other nice places such as museum.

I presumed London is fashionable city after Paris. So, many brands are here showing such as a great fashion in trend. Every season is representing different style of fashion and trend. New ideas develop for fashion and may affect the using of materials, colour, trends and many more. 

Postbox_02 : Places

London is full of iconic and historic buildings that were build since 11^th century. Based on my industry visit, trip with my friends and shooting video for assignment, I assumed that London’s has their own building identities. Differences between buildings are different years the building build, architecture concepts, history of the buildings and ages of the century. That makes London more valuable in heritage, culture and history.

I have been to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, House of Parliament, Tower Hill, Tower Bridge, Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, British Museum, Canary Wharf, Science Museum, Harrods, The Crystal, O2 Arena and many places more. Those places have differences, especially on the ages of century in architecture between the modern London and old London.

London has unique architecture. Most of the buildings are can stay for long time of century. Most of the buildings were built from many years ago. Till today, the buildings stay strong and have their own history.

I presumed that people love to shop. London has greater fashion shop from all over the world. Different brands, name, kind and colour. All of this greatest brand position at Regent Street, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and few more places.

For me, London is eye-catching of architecture. Most of the buildings are amazed, beautiful and stay strong. Even though, London has unexpected weather in every seasons, the buildings still stay for generation by generation. I tried to accomplish 10 top places in London. Few of places I was already gone there. London such an amazing city I been through in my life.

Postbox_01 : Introduction

Hi, my name is Muhammad Haziq Bin Mohd Shah. Taking BA (Hons) in Creative Multimedia. I sent by Felda and supervise by Limkokwing University to London for Student Global Transformation. I staying here for one semester to learn how to transform myself to be globalize student. I been here from September 22^nd and realize that London is away better than Kuala Lumpur. 

My father was worked with Malaysian Navy; he was travelling around the world including Portsmouth, United Kingdom. I as his son had a dream to travel like him. When I here in London, I really to be grateful although I England is my first country I have visit. Even though, I had stay far from homeland, it is not dampening my enthusiasm for study and learning in colonial country that has colonized my country years ago. Many leaders were born in Malaysia government were learned and studied in United Kingdom. Why not I learning something new and bring it for my generation that can lead Malaysia to be shine on world’s eye. 

For me, London is a great city that contain full or history, heritage, culture, and passionate. Full of desire of people that into architecture, fashion, arts and design, music, study and anything else. I learned so many things since I was get in London last September. I will explain what I’ve learned, study, and my observation in this journal with magazine looks style about London that I gone through.
